ASTM International, formerly known as American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).

The Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), developed by IAPMO, establishes rigorous standards for plumbing systems, including materials, sizing, and installation of underground sewer, drain, and waste systems to ensure public health and safety. As a model code, it provides adaptable guidelines that local authorities adopt to regulate safe and efficient plumbing practices. IAPMO enforces these standards through rigorous product testing and certification, ensuring compliance with the UPC.

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is a globally recognized authority that develops the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) and certifies plumbing and mechanical products to protect public health and safety. Through rigorous testing, IAPMO ensures that certified products, such as those used in underground construction, drain, waste, and sewer systems, meet the UPC’s stringent performance and safety standards. Its ANSI-accredited consensus process drives innovation while maintaining compliance with industry-leading codes.

The Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (SSPWC), known as the Greenbook, is a public-sector standard crafted by Southern California agencies to ensure durable underground sewer construction. Revised every three years since 1967, it sets rigorous guidelines, including the pickle jar test for corrosion-resistant materials, limiting private company influence. Adopted by over 200 U.S. agencies, it is a trusted benchmark. Joints Couplings manufactures products meeting these standards. This is not an approval agency.

Joints Couplings products utilize steal components meeting EPA American Iron and Steal (AIS) requirements. All iron and steal components are made in the United States of America(USA). AIS requires public agencies use productswith iron and steel components made in the USA for drain waste, sewer, storm, and water, applications.

The EPA regulates sewer systems primarily through the Clean Water Act (CWA) and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program. This involves setting limits on pollutants discharged from sewer systems, requiring permits for wastewater treatment plants, and monitoring and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

The NCPI is the single center for the research and development of clay pipe technology. Asa result of this focus and decades of research and development, NCPI has become the authority on Vitrified Clay Pipe. NCPI is available to provide assistance in design, training and evaluation of systems.

Provide a forum through which the fiberglass reinforced thermoset plastic ("RTP") industry can work together toward the common goal of advancing the use of members' fiberglass products. Ensures all products are safe, dependable, non-toxic, and utilized in correct manner. In addition to connecting fiberglass to fiberglass and fiberglass to other material pipes, Joints Couplings products link equalization pipes between header rows, storage chambers, and pipes.

Promote PVC pipe in water and wastewater systems. Creats and reviews sewer plans for engineers, regulator, public health, and standard submission documents. Provide information on use and design for gakseted and plain end PVC pipe. Sponsor research on buried pipe deflection, durability, ultraviolet aging, direct tapping, cyclic surge perforamces, and other areas of underground construction. Main orgnization representign entire sewer PVC pipe industry in the USA.

Fully structured rehabilitation solutions. 500+ Joints Couplings Products utilized. Utilized as a hard liner, sewer pipe, non-circular system link, and large diameter pipe, glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) can serve as a major component in pipe networks. GRP is also used in high temperature and chemical applications, when ceramics/ clay is not utilized. Utilities find GRP as useful tool for lining non circular pipe networks. Joints Couplings products available in 11 inch and 20 inch wide have linked many GRP pipes, including liners, new construction, circular, and non-circular, systems.

The Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association (PPFA) is a North American trade association comprised of member companies that manufacture plastic piping, fittings and solvent cements for plumbing and related applications, or supply raw materials, ingredients or machinery for the manufacturing process.

Manufacturers of cast iron and soil pipe group. Strive for product standards, develop testing, and evaluate products. Ensure pipe meets standards of the institute. Cast iron pipe does not depnd on sidefill stiffness, so the trench can be as narrow as the installer needs for Calder Coupling connecition.
